A balance on one chain is not automatically spendable as Perps collateral.
Start with the source
Open the transfer flow and check the selected source wallet, network, and token. A Solana balance and an EVM balance use different addresses and networks. Having funds in one does not mean the other can fund the transfer.
For a deposit routed from another chain, review the quote: amount paid, expected amount received, fees, and destination. Keep the source network’s gas requirements in mind. A quote can expire before you sign.
Spot and Perps are distinct
An internal Hyperliquid spot-to-Perps transfer is different from bridging assets from an external wallet. Read the direction before signing. Account modes can share collateral differently, so an internal transfer option may not apply to every account.
Do not infer that a token balance is collateral just because it appears in your portfolio. Verify the resulting available-to-trade balance after the transfer completes.
Withdrawing while positions are open
Account value, free trading balance, and withdrawable funds are different measures. Open positions and outstanding margin requirements can limit what you can move out.
If a transfer is pending, inspect its status before repeating it. A successful source-chain transaction is not always the same as completed destination credit. Use deposit history to reconcile the movement.
Check both ends
If a route spends 100 units of a source token, that does not promise 100 USDC at the destination. Compare the expected received amount and any fees in the quote.
