An order confirmation and an executed trade are different things.
Choose the right market
Open Perps in HYPE and select a market. Read the full symbol and venue label, particularly for HIP-3 markets where similar names may appear under different builders. Check the quoted price, recent activity, and order book before entering an amount.
Set the trade deliberately
Choose Buy / Long or Sell / Short, then an order type. Check margin mode and leverage before sizing. For an existing position, review its current settings; an adjustment can affect the position you already hold.
Size is the base-asset quantity, while order value is its approximate dollar exposure. Confirm both. If you use a limit, consider whether that price would trade immediately or wait on the book.
Review, then verify
Check the wallet, market, side, quantity, and any exit orders in the review. Confirm only after the values match your intent. A wallet request may include a fee approval as well as an order signature.
After submission, inspect orders and fills. A resting limit is not an open position, and a partial fill leaves some quantity unexecuted. Check the resulting position and its liquidation price rather than assuming the entire request filled.
A partial fill
You request 0.2 units and only 0.08 fill. Your position is 0.08 units; the remaining 0.12 may still be an open order. Cancelling that remainder does not close the filled position.
